Jens Koeppen, member of the Bundestag (Christian Democratic Party) made a working visit to the St. George Monastery in Goetshcendorf, Germany.

The high guest was welcomed by the abbot of the monastery, Hegumen Daniel (Irbitz), and the brethren. During a working meeting, Father Daniel informed his guest about the construction work carried out to build a church of the Holy Protomartyr George the Victorious, took him on a tour of the monastery and introduced him to its life.

Mr. Koeppen raised the problem of Russian-German relations and possible ways towards mutual understanding between the two nations. They also discussed the further ways of using the Goetschendorf estate located in the territory of the monastery. In the end of the talk, the guest was offered a fraternal repast, the press service of the St. George Monastery reports.
