Primate of Ukrainian Orthodox Church officiates at Divine Liturgy in Kiev Laura of the Caves on commemoration day of Holy Prince Vladimir
On 28 July 2015, commemoration day of the Holy Prince Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles (this year marks the millennium of his blessed demise), His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Kiev Laura of the Caves.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were representatives of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, and the Polish Orthodox Church, as well as hierarchs and clergy of all dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
During the Liturgy, a prayer for peace in Ukraine was said.
After the Dismissal, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry greeted the worshippers with the feast day and blessed a bas-relief depicting the Holy Prince Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles. The bas-relief has been installed on the northern wall of the Dormition Cathedral.
That same day, His Beatitude said a requiem litiya at the tomb of the late Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine, the official website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reports.
