Patriarch Kirill chairs regular session of the ROC Supreme Church Council
On June 25, 2015, the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church has begun its regular session at the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour. The meeting is chaired by His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
Opening the session the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church made introductory remarks. The agenda of the meeting includes the implementation of the decisions made by the Supreme Church Council and the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The membership of the Supreme Church Council consists of the heads of all the Synodal departments, commissions and committees.
Those invited to participate are Archimandrite Savva (Tutunov), deputy head of the Moscow Patriarchate chancellery, Archpriest Vladimir Shmaliy, pro-rector of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Institute of Post-Graduate Studies, Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, vice-chairman of the Education Committee, and Sister Xenia (Chernega), director of the Moscow Patriarchate legal service.
