On 16 June 1015, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with H.E. Goce Karajanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Macedonia to the Russian Federation. Taking part in the meeting were also archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations, and hierodeacon Roman (Kiselev), a staff member of the DECR secretariat for far abroad countries.

The DECR chairman and the head of the diplomatic mission of Macedonia in Moscow discussed issues pertaining to the ministry of the Russian Orthodox Church, care for people living in its canonical territory, and the development of relations with Macedonia in education and in the religious and cultural spheres.
