DECR chairman meets with a delegation of executive committee of Kirche in Not charity

April 20, 2015 – the chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, met with a delegation of the international Catholic charity Kirche in Not (Aid to the Church in Need).

Welcoming the guests, Metropolitan Hilarion noted that for more than twenty years of cooperation with Kirche in Not, the Russian Orthodox Church became a reliable partner giving support in particular to such an important sphere of church life as development of religious education.

The sides considered a number of current issues concerning their joint projects in theological education and international students’ exchange. They also discussed the prosecution of Christians in the Middle East and North Africa and stated the importance of protecting traditional family values in today’s society.
