On January 29-30, 2015, the plenary session of the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church took place in the Hall of Church Councils at the Church of Christ the Saviour under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

The participants discussed the following documents: ‘On participation of the faithful in the Eucharist,’ ‘Concept of the Russian Orthodox Church on education,’

‘The Church and the Culture,’ ‘The Church and the Economics in the context of globalization.’

The document ‘On participation of the faithful in the Eucharist’ will be presented to the Bishops’ Conference that takes place on February 2-3; three other documents with the notes made at the plenary session will be passed to the specialized commissions of the Inter-Council Presence to be further elaborated in the working groups.

In the end of the session the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church addressed the participants. He cordially thanked them, expressed his satisfaction with their work and noted that the decision of the Local Council of 2009 to set up a new body was providential. The Inter-Council Presence can prepare documents for the Councils and form the attitude of the Church to different problems. ‘May God grant us to continue the work which the Church and the modern world need,’ His Holiness concluded.
