Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, has sent the following message of greetings to the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania, on the occasion of his Name Day.

Your Beatitude,

On the Day of your Patron Saint, kindly accept my heartfelt greetings on the occasion of this auspicious day.

Inspired by the example of good life set by the Venerable Martyr Anastasius the Persian, you bear the heavy cross of primatial ministry in the land of Albania, tirelessly working so that the word of the Lord may spread and be glorified (cf. 2 Thes. 3:1).

Under Your Beatitude’s primatial omophorion, the God-loving faithful of the Albanian Orthodox Church grow from strength to strength (Ps. 84:7) in the works of love and charity, building Christian churches and reviving the spiritual life of Orthodox Albanians.

I prayerfully wish Your Beatitude sound health, long life and God’s all-powerful help in your primatial ministry.

With respectful love in Christ,

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk

Chairman of Department for External Church Relations
