State Duma to hold round table on Heritage of Holy Rus’ and Challenges of Modern World
The State Duma of the Russian Federation Federal Assembly is to hold on January 20, 2015, a round-table conference on ‘The Heritage of Holy Rus’ and Challenges of the Modern World’.
Organized as part of the 3d Parliamentary Christmas Meetings within the 23d International Christmas Readings, this event will be co-chaired by Metropolitan Hilarion, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, and Mr. A. Pushkov, chairman of the State Duma Committee for International Affairs.
The round table will deal with such themes as relationships between Christian values and secularization processes, problems of the family, motherhood and childhood in today’s society and Russia’s civilizational choice.
Among the participants will be chairpersons of the State Duma committees for the CIS and Eurasian integration and for the family, women and children, as well as high officials of the federal agencies for compatriots living abroad and for humanitarian cooperation.
The round table will be held from 13:45 to 15:45 at Auditorium 830 of the State Duma (Okhotny Ryad metro station).
