His Beatitude Tikhon, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, arrived on December 7 in St Petersburg as part of his peace visit to the Russian Orthodox Church.

At the Moskovsky Railway Station, the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America and his delegation were met by Metropolitan Varsonofy of St Petersburg and Ladoga, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, Bishop Nazary of Kronstadt and staff members of the diocese of St Petersburg. In the welcoming party were also city officials and representatives of the USA general consulate in St Petersburg.

The OCA delegation is accompanied by Bishop Ioann of Naro-Fominsk, administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, and Archimandrite Alexander (Pikhach), rector of St Catherine’s, the OCA Moscow Representation, and Deacon Kirill Dotsenko and D. Petrovsky, staff members of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations.

The guests will stay in the City on the Neva till December 10. They will visit St Isaac’s Cathedral, the church of the Resurrection-on-the-Blood, the St. Alexander Nevsky Laura and the memorial quarters of St. Ioann of Kronstadt.
