Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Ambassador of Great Britain to Russia

On 17 November 2014, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with H.E. Tim Barrow, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Russian Federation.

They were joined in the working meeting, which took place at the DECR premises, by Mr. Miguel Palacio, a staff member of the DECR secretariat for far abroad countries, and by Ms Sarah Fleming, second secretary of the Embassy of Great Britain in Moscow.

Discussed were issues of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Church of England, religious dimension of the crisis in Ukraine, and the situation of Christian minority in the Middle East countries.
