With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, a Youth Theological School is held from September 14 to 21, 2014, as part of the Churches in Europe working group of the Petersburg Dialogue forum. The project is intended to introduce German theological students to the system of higher theological education in Russia and to establish academic contacts between universities.

On September 14, 2014, the German students visited the town of Sergiev Posad. They were taken on a tour of the museum of the Moscow Theological Seminary and Academy to be introduced to the history of the Academy and to see some works of Russian church art. In the afternoon, they met with the head of the Academy’s Chair of Church Practices, Archpriest Vladislav Tsypin. Present at the meeting were also students of the Academy and Seminary. The German guests asked Father Vladislav questions concerning the system of theological education in Russia and the students’ life in the Academy and its inner order.

The trip concluded with a tour of the St. Sergius Laura of the Holy Trinity.

Within the framework of the Youth Theological School, the students are also to visit the Ss Cyril and Methodius Institute for Post-Graduate Studies, the St Tikhon Orthodox University of Humanities, the Sretensky Seminary and St. Petersburg theological schools.
