Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations receives Latvia’s ambassador Ms Astre Kurme

On April 3, 2014, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Department for External Church Relations, received Latvia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ms. Astre Kurme, at her request.

Ms Kurme conveyed a letter from Latvia’s President Andris Berzins to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

In attendance were Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, a vice-chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, and Ms. Olga Mazur, DECR secretariat for far-abroad countries.
