On January 30, His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East completed his visit to the Russian Orthodox Church. During his visit the Primate was accompanied by Metropolitan Basilios of Akkar, Metropolitan Ephraim of Tripoli, Archbishop Nifon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch to the Patriarch of Moscow, archimandrite Philip (Yazigi), archimandrite Parthenios (Allati), archdeacon Gerasimos (Kabbas), and a group of Orthodox laymen.

His Beatitude Patriarch John X and his suite were seen off at Vnukovo airport by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR); Archbishop Arseny of Istra, the first vicar of the Patriarch for Moscow; Bishop Panteleimon of Orekhovo-Zuevo, chairman of the Synodal Department for Charity and Social Ministry, archpriest Nikolai Balashov, deputy chairman of the DECR; archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations; hegumen Arseniy (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, deacon Feodor Shulga, a staff member of the DECR, and Moscow clerics, as well as H.E. Riad Haddad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation.
