On 21 November 2013, an awarding ceremony marked the last day of the XVII International Radonezh Film Festival held at House of Cinema of the Russian Union of Filmmakers.

The participants received greetings from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia; President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federations; Russian Minister of Culture, Vladimir Medinsky; Chair of the Union of Russian Filmmakers, Nikita Mikhalkov, and other persons.

A documentary, ‘The Second Baptism of Russia,’ made by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), was honoured with the special prize of the jury and the prize of the festival’s president.

The Radonezh Festival, which is supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture, Federal Agency for Cinematography, Moscow Government, Russian Union of Filmmakers, DECR, Synodal department for Church-Society relations, Synodal Information department and Patriarchal Council for Culture, has been held since 1995. Taking part in its work are over 200 film and TV companies from Russia and far and near abroad countries.
