Head of the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America thanks DECR chairman for supporting Christians in Syria
His Eminence Philip (Saliba), Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America, head of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, sent a letter to Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.
In his letter, Metropolitan Philip expressed his gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for presenting the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America with the particle of the holy relics of St Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow, and for the warm hospitality accorded to the group of pilgrims from the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America.
His Eminence Metropolitan Philip also thanked Metropolitan Hilarion, the DECR chairman. “…Thank you for all you have done and continue to do on behalf of the people of Syria,” the letter reads, “Hopefully, through the efforts of President Putin and the Russian government, the very tense situation of the past two weeks will be defused. Please continue to keep the innocent people of Syria in your holy prayers.”
