DECR chairman expresses condolences to President of the Government of Spain over trail derailment near Santiago de Compostela
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, sent the following message of condolences to H. T. Mariano Rajoy Brey, President of the Government of Spain:

Your Excellency:
The deadliest train accident in northwestern Spain has echoed with pain in my heart as dozens of people were killed and injured, including pilgrims who were going to the feast of St. James in your native Santiago de Compostela. In these tragic for all Spanish people day, I share the grief of all affected by the tragedy.
I am confident that the Government of Spain will take care for those in trouble and that the consequences of the train derailment will be overcome.
I pray our Life-Giver Christ to rest the souls of the victims and grant strength to all those who suffer4ed in the accident.
