On May 30, 2013, a dinner was given by the St. Petersburg Metropolia in honour of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, who is on an official visit to the Russian Orthodox Church.

At the Metropolia, the high guest and his delegation were met with Paschal hymns sung in Greek by the John of Damascus Youth Choir for the Cathedral of Our Lady of Vladimir.

Welcoming His Beatitude, Metropolitan Vladimir of St. Petersburg and Ladoga thanked him for bringing to St. Petersburg a blessing from holy Jerusalem from which the light of Christ’s Resurrection shone forth throughout the earth reaching the Russian land. ‘The Church of Christ, which began from a small community of Disciples of Christ, has gone through persecution and hard trials to continue to live and multiply in her steadfast journey to Heavenly Jerusalem’, he said.

All those present sang ‘Many Year of Life’ to the Primate of the Church of Jerusalem.

As a token of this memorable visit, Metropolitan Vladimir presented His Beatitude Theophilos with a set of a cross and two pectoral icons.
