Mr. Alexander Avdeyev, Russian Ambassador to Vatican, visits Russian Church of St Catherine in Rome
On 25 February 2013, H.E. Mr. Alexander Avdeyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Vatican and to the Sovereign Order of Malta, visited the stavropegic Church of St Catherine the Great Martyr in Rome at the invitation of hieromonk Antoniy (Sevryuk), rector of the Church and secretary of the Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate’s parishes in Italy.
Accompanying the diplomat was Mr. Dmitry Shtodin, Russian chargé d’affaires in Italy.
Fr. Antoniy showed the guests the Church of St Catherine and the lower Church of Sts Constantine and Helen and told them about the history and life of the parish and about the activities of the Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate’s parishes in Italy.
At the conclusion of his visit, Mr. Avdeyev made an entry in the Book of the Guests of Honour, website of the Church of St Catherine reports.
