Minister President of Brandenburg Land and Russian Ambassador to Germany visit St. George Monastery in Götschendorf
On 15 February 2013, the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord, Mr. Matthias Platzeck, Minister President of the Federal State of Brandenburg, and Mr. Vladimir Grinin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federal Republic of Germany, visited the Monastery of St George in Götschendorf.
Meeting the guests were Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany, hegumen Daniel (Irbits), abbot of the monastery, and the brethren, Press-Service of the Berlin diocese reports.
Archbishop Feofan told the guests about the foundation and the life of the St George Monastery, showed them the main ensemble of the monastery, a church under construction, and a home church.
Father Daniel and Mr. Platzeck discussed the assistance that the Federal State of Brandenburg can render in restoring the castle which is a dominant structure of the monastery.
