On 25 January 2013, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch Iliya II of All Georgia at the patriarchal residence in Peredelkino. The Primates of the Russian and Georgian Orthodox Churches continued discussing issues of mutual interest.

Accompanying His Holiness and Catholicos-Patriarch Iliya II were Metropolitan Theodore of Akhaltsikhe and Tao-Klarjeti, vicar of the Catholicos-Patriarch; Metropolitan Gerasim of Zugdidi and Tsaishi, chairman of the Georgian Patriarchate’s Foreign Department; Protopresbyter Georgy Zviadadze, rector of the Tbilisi Theological Academy; archimandrite David (Chincharauli); and other members of the Georgian delegation.

Taking part in the meeting were also Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations; Archbishop Mark of Yegorievsk, head of the Administration for Moscow Patriarchate’s Institutions Abroad; Bishop Sergy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administrative Secretariat; and archpriest Nikolai Balashov, DECR vice-chairman.
