Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with Algeria’s ambassador to Russia

December 20, 2012 – Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, met with Algerian Ambassador to Russia Smail Shergi, at the DECR.

 

The Algerian diplomat thanked Metropolitan Hilarion for the opportunity to meet and pointed to the important role the Russian Orthodox Church plays in the life of Russian society. Mr. Shergi expressed readiness to develop cooperation with the Moscow Patriarchate.

 

They discussed the interreligious dialogue and other matters of mutual concern.
