Conference of Russian Orthodox Bishops Serving in the Diaspora concludes its work in London
On 21 October 2012, the representative conference which gathered hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church serving outside its canonical territory completed its work in the capital of Great Britain. On the second day of the meeting, the participants in the conference, headed by Metropolitan Hilarion, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, discussed prospects of joint pastoral work, called for better coordination of this work in the future, and considered the issues of internal and external mission, liturgical practice, and the practice of receiving people who wish to join the Orthodox Church.
Also discussed were the questions relating to pastoral ministry in multilingual diasporas and cooperation in the Holy Land.
Participants in the conference took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Surozh diocease.
On the results of the conference, the final document was adopted.
