DECR chairman meets with coordinator of State Duma inter-fraction group for protecting Christian values

On October 3, 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations (DECR), received the coordinator of the State Duma’s inter-fraction group for protecting Christian values, S. Gavrilov, at the DECR.

 

Metropolitan Hilarion expressed satisfaction with fact that an inter-fraction group for advocating Christian values was established in the Russian parliament. His Eminence noted that it was a priority area of work carried out by his department at international arena.

 

Mr. Gavrilov, on his part, thanked the DECR chairman for the meeting and told him about the plans of his inter-fraction group. He also expressed readiness to cooperate with the Russian Orthodox Church.
