Dear Brother,

It deeply grieved me in my heart to learn about the attack against you and your Deputy Mufti Valiulla Yakupov, who died at the hands of terrorist.

I would like to express to you and in your person to the entire Muslim community in Tatarstan my profound condolences over the death of Mufti Valiulla Yakupov, whom we have all known as a sincere believer, renowned academic and public figure. It is an irretrievable loss.

The act of terror committed in the days of Ramadan points to the depth of moral and spiritual lapse of those who organized and perpetrated this evil deed. Terrorism is a common threat to all humanity and the struggle with it requires joint efforts and prayers of all people of good will.

I wish you physical and spiritual strength and a speedy recovery from the injury.

Respectfully,
