The Russian Society of Friends of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem is holding the 10th diplomatic training course for future Middle East experts from July 1 to 15, 2012.

 

The trainees are students of the leading Russian universities, majoring in International Relations, Global Economy and International Law.

 

The program of the 10th diplomatic training course includes meetings at Israeli’s Knesset and Foreign Ministry as well as the Russian embassy and the Russian Orthodox Mission in Jerusalem. There will also be seminars and trips around the country. The aim of the training course is to introduce future Russian specialists to the Middle East region and to raise their professional level.

 

On July 2, the students visited the Russian Orthodox Mission and met with its secretary Father Anthony Gutnik. They discussed a number of issues important for their professional work including the church diplomacy, relations with the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and other sister Churches, and the situation of Christians in the Middle East, the website of the Russian Orthodox Mission in Jerusalem has reported.
