On 1 July 2012, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Bryansk and visited the Sevsk Monastery of the Dormition.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church saw construction work and thanked Governor Nikolai Denin of the Bryansk region and the benefactors for their assistance in the reviving of the eldest monastery in the Bryansk land.

His Holiness attended a reception given on behalf of the governor. After the reception, His Holiness departed for Moscow. He was seen off at the airport by Bishop Alexander of Bryansk and Sevsk, governor Denin, and clergymen of the Bryansk diocese.

Patriarch Kirill thanked Bishop Alexander and leaders of the region for arranging the primatial visit.
