On 12 June 2012, a delegation of the Christian Churches of Finland arrived in Moscow. The delegation includes Archbishop Leo of Karelia and All Finland, Orthodox Church of Finland; Archbishop Kari Mäkinen of Turku, Primate of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland; Bishop Teemo Sippo of Helsinki, Roman Catholic Church; archpriest Viktor Liutik, rector of the Intercession Church in Helsinki and representative of the Moscow Patriarchate in Finland; Rev. Dr. Kimmo Kiarianen, executive director of the Department of International Relations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland; Mr. Tuomo Pesonen, head of the information service of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, and tow interpreters.

Meeting the delegation at Sheremetievo airport were archpriest Dimitry Sizonenko, DECR acting secretary for inter-Christian relations, and three DECR staff members.

That same day, the guests from Finland visited the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. They saw the premises and the “Art of Pearl Embroidery” exhibition.
