On June 5, 2012, a delegation of French conservative activists visited the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations. Their visit to Moscow was initiated by the Historical Perspective Foundation and the Institute for Democracy and Cooperation (Paris). The delegation included cultural figures, scientists and journalists.

They had a talk with Archpriest Sergiy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for the far-abroad countries. He welcomed the French guests on behalf of the DECR chairman, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk. He informed the guests about major areas of external work carried out by the Russian Orthodox Church including inter-Orthodox and inter-Christian relations and work with expatriates and about the contribution Russian émigrés made in various spheres of the life of the French society.

In conclusion of the meeting, Archpriest Sergiy answered questions from the guests.
