On June 4, 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, met with Russia’s Minister of Culture, V. Medinsky.

They discussed a wide range of issues concerning cooperation between the Church and the world of culture. Special attention was given to the projects in which the Ministry of Culture and the Department for External Church Relations are working together. Among them are Russia’s assistance in the interior arrangements of St. Savva’s Church in Belgrade and the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Days of Russia in other countries.

Participating in the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Culture, were also L. Sevastyanov, executive director of the St. Gregory the Theologian Charity, and his deputy I. Lapshin, as well as President of the Vozvraschenie Foundation, Yu. Bondarenko.
