On May 17, 2012, Bishop Nestor of Chersonese became one of the participants in the Days of Orthodoxy celebrated in Switzerland. The first event of this kind to be held in that country united representatives of all the Local Orthodox Churches represented in Switzerland.

The festivities were opened with the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the church of St. Paul at the Orthodox Center of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Chambesy. The celebrants were Metropolitan Jeremiah of Switzerland (Patriarchate of Constantinople), Bishop Nestor of Chersonese, Bishop Makarius of Lampsakos (Patriarchate of Constantinople), as well as bishops and clergy of other Local Churches.

After the service, there was a festive repast during which the participants were invited to attend a conference on the past and present of Orthodoxy in Switzerland.

In the afternoon, the participants were received by the president of the General Council of the Canton of Geneva Mr. Pierre-Francois Unger, the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate’s diocese of Chersonese has reported.
