DECR vice-chairman meets with Mufti of Moscow

On 3 May 2012, hegumen Philaret (Bulekov), vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with Albir Krganov, Mufti of Moscow, Central region of Russia and Chuvashia, and member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. Mufti Krganov informed hegumen Philaret of the upcoming jubilee – the 225^th anniversary of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia (CSBMR). Discussed was cooperation between the DECR and the CSBMR in the strengthening of inter-religious peace and holding out against extremism on religious grounds as well as other issues of mutual interest.

Taking part in the meeting was deacon Dimitry Safonov, a staff member of the DECR secretariat for far-abroad countries.
