His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem arrives in Ukraine on private visit
On 25 April 2012, His Beatitude Theophilos III, Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem, arrived in Kiev on a private visit on the invitation of Alexander Feldman, member of the Ukrainian Parliament and chair of the Ukraine-Israel Parliamentary Group.
His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos took part in the international conference on the theme ‘Towards Changes – the Role of Religion in the Modern World. Faith in a Democracy and Secular Society’, organized by the Alexander Feldman Fund, the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, and the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia founded by Mr. Feldman.
During his stay in Ukraine, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem also visited the Dormition Laura of the Caves in Kiev, met with His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine, and with the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich.
