DECR chairman meets with president of Slovenia-Russia Friendship Association

On 24 April 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion visited M.I. Rudomino All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature. He addressed the readers and met with the president of Slovenia-Russia Friendship Association, the first Slovenia’s ambassador to Russia Saša Geržina.

They were joined in the meeting by H. E. Ada Filip-Slivnik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia to Russia, and Saša Slavec, member of the Slovenia-Russia Friendship Association.

Discussed in a friendly atmosphere was the development of spiritual and cultural cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and Slovenia. Particular attention was paid to the annual memorial ceremony on Vršič Pass to take place next July in commemoration of the 96^th anniversary of the Russian chapel built by Russian soldiers during World War I.
