Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk visits Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus

On 5 March 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with Mr. Alexander Radkov, the acting head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus.
They were joined in the meeting by Mr. Leonid Guliako, chairman of the Committee for Religions and Nationalities under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus; Mr. Igor Petrishenko, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus; and Ms Liudmila Borovko, chief counsellor of the Byelorussian Presidential Administration.
The participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the cooperation between the Church and the State.
After the meeting at the Byelorussian Presidential Administration, Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Institute of Theology of the Byelorussian State University.
Later that day the DECR chairman went to the Memorial Church of All Saints, where he saw the church complex under construction and met with Mr. Nikolai Ladutko, chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
In the evening Metropolitan Hilarion departed for the stavropegic Monastery of the Dormition in Zhirovichi.
