Archbishop Mitrofan of Belaya Tserkov and Boguslav comments on decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
On 21 February 2012, after the session of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, its chancellor, Archbishop Mitrofan of Belaya Tserkov and Boguslav told the journalists about the meeting of the members of the Holy Synod with His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine before the session. “We heard his fatherly exhortation; he gave us counsel and blessing to hold the session. The Synod took decisions to appease the present unfortunate situation in our Church,” he said.
Answering the question of whether issues of personnel were discussed at the meeting with His Beatitude, Archbishop Mitrofan said: “All decisions taken by the Holy Synod were discussed with His Beatitude. Our meeting took place in a very favourable atmosphere. His Beatitude congratulated us on the upcoming Lent and asked us to forgive him. We asked him many questions, including those to be considered by the Synod.”
