Metropolitan Christopher of Czech Lands and Slovakia arrives in Moscow
On 20 January 2012, Metropolitan Christopher of the Czech Lands and Slovakia arrived in Moscow leading the delegation to the 20th Educational Christmas Readings. The delegation also includes Bishop Tichon of Komárno, a vicar of the Prešov diocese, and Rev. Mefody Kout.
Meeting Metropolitan Christopher at the Sheremetievo airport were Metropolitan Varsonofiy of Saransk and Mordovia, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate; Bishop Savva of Voskresensk; archpriest Sergy Nikitin, dean of the Moscow deanery of All Saints; Rev. Igor Yakimchuk, secretary for inter-Orthodox relations of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR); a DECR staff member Andrei Khoshev; archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky) of the Michalovce and Košice diocese (Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia); and archpriest Alexei Yuschenko, rector of the Representation of the Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow.
