DECR chairman receives abbot of Athonite monastery

On November 11, 2011, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk met with the abbot of St. Paul’s Monastery on Mount Athos, Archimandrite Parthenios (Mourelatos). The guest was accompanied by brethren of the monastery and members of it spiritual council.

Addressing the father abbot, Metropolitan Hilarion warmly thanked him for the hospitality his monastery accorded to him last year and conveyed a blessing from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for his forthcoming visits to holy places in Russia as well as an his invitation to come for the his 65^th birthday.

The talk was held in a warm atmosphere. As a token of the meeting Metropolitan Hilarion presented St. Paul’s Monastery with a five-volume edition on the Russian Orthodox Church’s monasteries.
