Rector of Post-Graduate School interviews applicants for candidate and doctoral programs
On September 22, 2011, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, in his capacity of rector of the Sts Cyril and Methodius Church Post-Graduate and Doctoral School, interviewed applicants for the candidate and doctoral programs.
Invited to the interviews were all the entrants recommended by the selection committee and the School’s chairs. Metropolitan Hilarion had a talk with every applicant, asking him questions about his previous education, academic interests and church work. Present at the interviews were Archpriest Vladimir Smaliy, pro-rector of the School, Rev. Mikhail Zheltov, head of the Chair of Church Practice Sciences, and Mr. A. Mramornov, secretary of the School’s academic board.
The interviews resulted in decisions concerning admission. Some applicants were asked to advance their knowledge in a particular branch of theology or in a foreign or old language as a condition for their admission, while others were recommended to take up the master program due to the insufficient level of their theological knowledge.
The list of the students will be published at the website of the Church Post-Graduate and Doctoral School in the nearest future.
