Primates of Local Orthodox Churches have expressed condolences to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia over the plane crash that took place on September 7, in the Yaroslavl Region.

Telegrams of condolences have been sent to the head of the Russian Church by His Holiness and Beatitude Iliya II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, and His Beatitude Savva, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland.

‘On behalf of the Georgian Orthodox Church and on my own behalf I would like to extend profound condolences to you and to the families of those who died in the place crash near Yaroslavl. We share your grief and lift up our prayers for repose of the souls of those who died’ Catholicos-Patriarch Iliya says in this message.

In his messages in response, Patriarch Kirill expressed gratitude for their words of sympathy, the Patriarchal Press Service has reported.
