During the night of August 26, the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Lord’s Sepulchre in Jerusalem was celebrated by Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth (Patriarchate of Jerusalem), Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, Metropolitan Theologos of Serres and Nigrita (Greek Orthodox Church) and Bishop Theodosius of Seattle, Vicar Bishop of the Diocese of Western America (Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia). Among thier concelebrants were also Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, DECR vice-chairman, Archimandrite Isidore Minaev, head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Hierodeacon Ioann Kopeikin, assistant to the DECR chairman, and an assembly of clergy from various Local Orthodox Churches.

Prayers were lifted up in Greek, Church Slavonic and Arabic. Hymns were sung in Greek and in the Church Slavonic echo chant.
