Regular session of the Inter-Council Presence’s Commission on Attitude to Non-Orthodoxy and Other Religions takes place
On 20 June 2011, the Inter-Council Presence’s Commission on Attitude to Non-Orthodoxy and Other Religions met at the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations. The session was chaired by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
Taking part in the session were Archbishops Innokentiy of Vilnius and Lithuania, Avgustin of Lvov and Galich, Anastasiy of Kazan and Tatarstan, Feofan of Berlin and Germany, Bishop Aleksandr of Baku and Caspian Region, archpriest Oleg Pelevin, representing Metropolitan Aleksandr of Riga and All Latvia, hegumen Philipp (Ryabykh), archpriest Maksim Kozlov, secretary of the Commission, archpriest Valentin Asmus, archpriest Vladislav Tsypin, Rev. Maksim Plyakin, Rev. Dimitry Sizonenko, and Ms. Margarita Nelyubova.
Members of the Commission considered a draft document “On Admitting Non-Orthodox Christians into the Orthodox Church.’
A working group was set up to prepare a draft document on canonical aspects of mixed marriages to be presented at the next session of the Commission due to take place next September.
