Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia arrives in Moscow
On 10 May 2011, His Beatitude Metropolitan Christopher of the Czech Lands and Slovakia arrived in Moscow from Kazakhstan. He is accompanied by Bishop Tichon of Komárno, a vicar of the Diocese of Prešov, and the Very Rev. Aleksiy Yuschenko, rector of the Moscow Metochion of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.
Meeting the high guest at Sheremetievo airport were Bishop Ignatiy of Bronnitsy, a vicar of the Moscow diocese; Rev. Igor Yakimchuk, secretary for Inter-Orthodox Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR); and a DECR staff member A. Khoshev.
His Beatitude will stay in Moscow till May 12. He will lecture at St. Tikhon’s Humanitarian University, present his book entitled “The Orthodox Prague” and celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Metochion.
