Holy and Sacred Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church begins its third working day
On 4 February 2011, the Bishops’ Council, chaired by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, began its third working day at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine presented his report on the situation in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The today’s agenda includes discussion of the amendments to the Statute of the Russian Orthodox Church and to the draft “Temporary provisions for the material and social support of the clergy and church institutions staff and their families” prepared by the Council’s drafting Committee with the proposals put forward by the hierarchs at the two plenary sessions and the discussion on other draft documents worked our by the Inter-Council Presence taken into consideration.
The Council will conclude its work by adopting final documents.
