Metropolitan Hilarion completes his visit to the Serbian Orthodox Church

On 4 October 2010, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, who led the Russian Orthodox Church delegation at the enthronement of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, left Belgrade for Barcelona, where he will be awarded the title of doctor honoris causa of the University of Barcelona.

Seeing Metropolitan Hilarion off at the airport were the Russian Ambassador to Serbia A. Konuzin; DECR deputy chairman archpriest Nikolai Balashov; DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations the Rev. Igor Yakimchuk; and rector of the metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade archpriest Vitaly Tarasjev.
