DECR Chairman sends greetings to the Primate of the Church of Greece with his Name Day
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, sent greetings to His Beatitude Archbishop Hieronymus of Athens and All Greece with his Name Day. The text is given below.
Your Beatitude:
Please accept my respectful greetings and best wishes on your Name Day.
Through the prayers of your heavenly patron, St. Jerome of Stridon, a great theologian and ascetic, you have zealously served God and the pious people of Greece, fulfilling by word and deed the commandment of St. Paul: ‘to tend the flock of God that is in your charge, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion but willingly’ (1 Pet. 5:2).
On this festive day I wish Your Beatitude God’s help in your difficult primatial ministry and pray for the strengthening of fraternal ties of love between our Churches and for multiplying your physical and spiritual energy.
With respectful love in Christ,
+ Hilarion,
Metropolitan of Volokolamsk
