Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church expresses his condolences with the devastating earthquake in China

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message to the President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao in which he expressed condolences with the natural calamity that has befallen the people of China and took away hundreds of human lives. The text is given below.

Your Excellency:

The Russian Orthodox Church shares the grief of the Chinese people at the devastating earthquake on the Tibetan plateau that took away hundreds of human lives. Dozen thousands of people are suffering hard privations. We deeply condole with the families of the victims and pray for all who has suffered and for the soonest overcoming of the consequences of the natural calamity.
