On 8 April 2010, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for external church relations met with the editor-in-chief of the Moscow Patriarchate Publishing House archpriest Vladimir Siloviev. Also taking part in the meeting that took place at the DECR premises were head of the DECR Communications Service the Revd. Georgy Zavershinsky; deputy head of the Publishing House’s Department for public relations I. Lapshin; and the DECR staff member M. Pervushin.

Archpriest Vladimir Siloviev told those gathered that the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate has issued the scholarly-theological, liturgical and religious educational literature during many years. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill noted the high level of the scholarly-theological publications. Fr. Vladimir presented the latest editions, including the catalogue of an exhibition of Russian icons opened recently in Bratislava.

An agreement was signed between the Department for external church relations and the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate to advance the church and theological science and to implement joint projects with the DECR and the Church postgraduate and doctoral school. The 50th jubilee issue of “The Church and the Time” journal will be issued in the frame work of the agreement, as well as a series ‘Library of “The Church and the time” journal,’ that would include the most serious and meaningful scholarly-theological materials ever published in the journal.

The agreement being signed, the participants exchanged Paschal gifts.
