Patriarch of Jerusalem extends condolences over terrorist attack in Moscow underground

His Beatitude Theophilos, Patriarch of Jerusalem and All Palestine, has sent to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia a letter extending condolences over the tragedy that took place on March 29 in the Moscow underground.

The letter reads in particular, ‘Lifting up to Christ our Saviour our ardent prayers for the repose of the victims from the formidable Golgotha, the place of His voluntary suffering for the human race, we express to Your Holiness our wholehearted sympathy and the sympathy of the whole  Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre. Together with you we address our requests to all those responsible persons to take due measures for preventing such actions in the future in Russia and throughout the world – the actions which abuse God’s gift of life’.
