The Days of Russian Religious Culture opened at the cultural centre in Rio Gallegas, the capital of Santa Cruz province, Argentina, on 2 February 2010, as a part of the Days of Russia, ‘Pravoslavie.ru” reports.

The event was prepared by the Representation of the Federal Agency for Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation with support of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Days of Russian Religious Culture are timed to the 90th anniversary of the Russian Church Abroad.

Hundreds of Argentineans from all over the country, compatriots, and representatives of state authorities took part in the opening ceremony, performing at which was the choir of the Moscow Sretensky Monastery. The Days of Russian Religious Culture are an important event for the Orthodox in Argentina.
