His Holiness Patriarch Kirill congratulates Evo Morales on his re-election President of Bolivia

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church in his message to Evo Morales congratulated him on his re-election as President of the Multinational State of Bolivia. The text is given below.

Your Excellency, dear Mr. President:

I cordially greet you with your re-election as President of the Multinational State of Bolivia.

Your have gained respect in the world thanks to your labours aimed at the building of a just society, improvement of the situation in which citizens of your country live, including the Indians, and the consolidation of national sovereignty.

The Russian Orthodox Church strives for the development of relations with the Multinational State of Bolivia. Living in your country is the Russian-speaking diaspora, the considerable part of which profess Orthodoxy, and a small Orthodox church was built on the territory of the Russian Embassy in La Paz in 2008 to meet the spiritual needs of believers.

The positions of our Church and the Government of Bolivia on many social problems are similar. We pay special attention to social justice, speak in defense of the diversity of cultures, and uphold the multipolar world order.

I wish you good health and success in your difficult ministry to the good of the people of Bolivia.
